 The Huron County Engineer’s Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Mechanic.

Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment in the county highway department.  Employee performs generally skilled equipment repair work. Responsible for the careful and safe operation of a variety of motorized equipment.  This may require being on call 24 hours a day.  Rate of pay will be $25.44 after a 180 day probationary period.

Qualifications for the position are completion of secondary education or equivalent and one (1) to two (2) years of experience working as a professional mechanic; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Applicant must possess a valid State of Ohio Class B CDL or obtained within (6) six months of employment; must maintain insurability under the Engineer’s insurance policy.

Potential candidates must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

 The Huron County Engineer’s Office is accepting applications the full-time position of Engineer 1.

Engineer 1 assists in coordinating the activities of Engineering, Road, and Inspection, conducts plan and permit reviews and analyses related to hydraulic, structural, highway, traffic, and other technical aspects, and performs other duties as may be required.

Qualifications for the position are the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applicant must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and must maintain insurability under the Engineer’s insurance policy.
