Huron County Engineer’s Office – Project Inspector

 The Huron County Engineer’s Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Project Inspector.

Project Inspector conducts on-site inspections of all county projects and township projects. Inspects county roads, bridges and culverts; recommends repair and maintenance; administrates utility and right-of-way permits; addresses resident complaints. Works with road superintendent to coordinate work schedules and safety procedures., and performs other duties as may be required.  Salary commensurate with experience/qualifications.

Completion of secondary education or equivalent, and three (3) years experience in road maintenance and/or construction project management; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

Applicant must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license; must maintain insurability under the Engineer’s insurance policy.

Huron County Engineer's Office Seasonal Employment Opportunity

The Huron County Engineer’s Office is now accepting applications for Summer / Seasonal Employment (May through September).

Under the direction of a supervisor, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • General maintenance of buildings and roads.
  • Pot hole patching
  • Mowing / trimming / brush removal
  • Flagging
  • Litter pick-up

Position requires employee to work in outdoor weather conditions such as sun, heat, wind, and rain. The work physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:  Must be high school graduate.  Possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.
